DeckTeaser biography

  • She not only teases hard, she rocks hard!

Sherrie has always been very musical. When she was only 2 years old, she was always dancing to the music they played at home. Her dad plays the guitar and her mom really has got a good music taste, so she was quite lucky when she was growing up because she always was listening to funky stuff, like Motown, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, etc. She also listened a lot to soft rock, because her older brother was totally into that. At the age of 5, she started playing the keyboard and when she was about 14, she tried to make mix tapes from radio recordings. She used to have just one tape deck so she recorded one song, from Pete Tong's show for example, stopped the tape and when she heard another good tune, she started recording again. So when she played it back, it was sort of mixed together. One year later, at the tender age of 15, she started clubbing, but her parents didn't really know. Most of her friends were older and she used to say that she was sleeping over at a friend's house and then they went clubbing.

Her passion for DJing started back in 2002, when she worked alongside DJ Lynda Phoenix on the Princes Trust DJ Course. Lynda was so impressed with her talents, that she advised her to seriously look at a professional career as a DJ! Sherrie then went on to study a National Diploma in Music Technology at college in Leeds, where she gained some experience in some high quality studios which enabled her to dip into the production side of things as well. Since first getting noticed working with The Princes Trust, she's been aiming to work her way up the ranks in the hard dance scene.

Sherrie first came into the thriving hard dance scene in 2005, bringing along her passion for filthy, underground beats. This talented lady enjoys most styles of hard dance including Hard Trance, Techno, Tech Trance, Tough Tek, Hard House, Nu NRG, and German Trance! Her favorite DJs and producers are Nick Sentience, Eddie Halliwell, Tom Harding, Paul Maddox, Scot Project, Alex Kidd, Lisa Lashes, Anne Savage, Marcel Woods, Fred Baker, Jon O' Bir, Sander Van Doorn, Kutski, Amber D, Adam Sheridan, Petrae Foy, Paul Woolford, Sister Bliss and Alister Whitehead.

Her first club sets included Hangar 13 (Sunderland) and Random (Kettering), and it didn't took long for the industry to sit up and notice her talent. She got residencies at Digital Society in Leeds, playing underground electro, and also at Battle of the Sexes in Hull, as well as playing various guest sets in the UK, sharing the booth with some of the finest talents in her field. She has been billed on the same lineup with DJs such as Billy Daniel Bunter, Daley, Wid and Ben, Sarah G (aka Ninja Girl), Vicky Devine, Kernzy and Klemenza, Alex M.O.R.P.H, Jon O'bir, JFK, Anton Nathrass, Will Gold, Jonas Steur, Jp + Jukesy, K Complex, Audiophreakz (AUS), Leon Boiler, Si Stylus and Will Holland, to name a few… She also torn up at Frantic at Marino and Sundissential at Gatecrasher, rocked warehouses in Texas and was booked for Charlys Angelz in Play2, Ibiza, and several clubs in Canada. Furthermore, she had a regular spot at the Shap Hard Outdoor parties, where she played to big crowds of Goodgreef regulars, and nowadays she is resident at F.T.N. (Fcuk The Neighbours) in Ashton Under Lyne.

One of the best qualities of this lady is that she isn't afraid to rock as hard behind the decks as she would on the dance floor, undoubtedly stating her presence with that elusive combination of intelligent, watertight programming, advanced technical ability and mind-blowing trickery. Her sets fizz with energy and charisma, always eclectic yet never predictable. Casually drawing from a diverse range of material, Sherrie has come to pioneer a uniquely modern brand of hard dance, sculpting, cutting and chopping from all manner of tastes and styles to leave the mixer battered, used and abused and the dance floor tingling, crying for more. It is this, coupled with her reputation to consistently deliver, that is gaining Sherrie the kind of momentum, support and respect that a woman of her talent deserves!

Although she is already quite busy with DJing, Sherrie still has some dreams to fulfill in her professional career. She would die for playing at a party in Amnesia, Ibiza, and she also would love to spin the decks at Creamfields and Glastonbury, and in The Netherlands at Dance Valley, Sensation Black, Amsterdam Dance Event, Mysteryland and Lowlands. When she is not caressing the decks, she goes clubbing! She loves socializing and spending time with friends. Furthermore, she likes writing. When she has got time, she writes track reviews and DJ biographies. As in music, she really can get lost when she starts writing things.
